I have a Kodak ZD8612 IS & I know it’s a point & shoot camera, but would buying lenses for it be a bad idea?
I realize the camera is a point and shoot, but I took my niece to buy a lithium ion battery pack for the camera today, and she is going to the aquarium/zoo. the sales associate recommended that she buy an adapter and a wide angle lens, as well as a macro lens. Were they just trying to make a sale or were they being honest that the lenses would help her out?
she doesn’t take her photography class for another month but she is going to the aquarium and zoo within the next week or so.
Also if lenses are ok, what lenses would you recommend she have in general?

The ZD8612 IS is not a lens interchangeable camera like the DSLR cameras. It’s a super zoom camera and has that big black look which might have confused the sales associate. Don’t buy any lenses for it, they won’t work.
Apparently Kodak does have one telephoto lens that will fit on the ZD8612. It’s here
